This is my favorite picture of Padmasambhava. From the Rigpawiki “this is an image of Padmasambhava which was made from life and blessed by him in the eighth century in Tibet. It is believed that on seeing this statue at Samyé, he remarked, “It looks like me,” and then blessed it, saying, “Now it is the same as me!”

Guru Rinpoche also known as Guru Padmasambhava’s tallest statue of 135″ is at Samdruptse Hill in namchi, South Sikkim, India. Located beautifully atop the hill overlooks Mt.Kanchenjunga. Every year during Sept-Oct Vajra Guru Dhongdrup (Recitation of 100 Million Vajra Guru Mantra) is conducted here.
